Deba Gray is co-founder of Gray’s Auctioneers, the leading licensed auctioneers and valuers in Northeast Ohio. She has thirty years of experience valuing, authenticating and auctioning fine art, jewelry, decorative art, antiques and rugs. Prior to founding Gray’s in 2006 Deba was AVP of Property and Operations at Sotheby’s Chicago & New York. After moving to New York in 2000 Deba took a sabbatical from the auction industry and spent six years in the film industry as an Art Director and Special Effects Technician. Established in 2006 Gray’s has now become the preeminent auction house connecting our consignors in Northeast Ohio with buyers from all over the world.
Amy E. Dawson, Director of Rare Books at Gray’s
Amy E. Dawson is Director of Rare Books at Gray’s Auctioneers, where she brings decades of experience cataloging, valuing, and preserving unique cultural heritage materials. Prior to joining Gray’s, Amy held key roles at the Herb Society of America and the Cleveland Public Library, including Manager of the Literature Department, Coordinator of the Ohio Center for the Book, and Special Projects Librarian in Special Collections. She is a recognized expert in attribution, forgery, authenticity, and provenance, with a passion for uncovering rare regional treasures from Cleveland and Ohio history. At Gray’s, Amy leads the rare books department with a dedication to scholarship, accuracy, and care, connecting exceptional works with collectors and institutions worldwide.
