Your social media feeds are filled with people you know, celebrities, news, and influencers. Those influencers may be famous for their work on social media or they could be famous within a certain industry or focus.

The artworld is no different and social media brings us a number of influencers across many platforms that deserve a follow or share.

Who are some of the top influencers you should be following and what do they offer?

Benny Or @bennyor

World travelers and art lovers will feel right at home with Benny Or’s Instagram page. With over 16,000 followers, Benny has come to New York City through stops in Hong Kong and Canada.

This well-traveled artist will give you an inside look at many of New York’s most famous art museums while also giving you a look at his own works of art.

He also features artists as well with interviews, tours, and behind-the-scenes looks.

Sarah Andelman @sarahandelman

You may not recognize the name, but you might recognize her store, Colette. Colette is a unique concept store that seems to combine art and fashion and bring it to the main front.

Besides running the store, Andelman shows her creativity through her Instagram page. Follow her and you’ll see everything from ventures to renowned art museums to small retail showrooms in the middle of nowhere.

If you’re a fan of fashion, you’ll also be getting a heavy dose from her posts.

Jasmin Hernandez @gallerygurls

The founder of GalleryGurls, Hernandez is a fashion and photography lover. Her feed is filled with unique photos and plenty of collaborations with artists and fellow photographers around the world.

Based out of New York City, Hernandez is also a vocal leader in the civil rights community, using her platform to speak to her 13,000+ followers weekly.

Gary Yeh @artdrunk

If we were giving out creative names, art drunk would probably take the title.

Yeh is a DC native who makes it his goal to attend as many art shows as humanly possible. Even though the pandemic may have slowed him down, he’s still trying to make sure to travel as much as possible.

With almost 100,000 followers, Yeh’s feed is filled with wonderful art pieces and unique photos. He has a weekly newsletter which he describes as “the easiest way to learn about art”. Check it out!

Andrew Cheng @adriancheng

Cheng is a bit different than the others on this list. He is not an artist, but strictly an art influencer. A collector of artisanal objects, Cheng also loves to help promote others.

Hailing from Hong Kong, Cheng is the founder of the K11 Art Foundation and runs an “art mall” as well. This art mall is a combination of a shopping mall and an art museum.

Following Cheng is a great way to stay up to date on what’s happening in the art world, so be sure to give him a follow.

Os Gemeos @osgemeos

Portuguese for “The Twins” Os Gemeos follows two twin brothers around their native Sao Paulo. Their art ranges greatly, from eclectic street art to sketches to painting.

Brothers Osvaldo and Gustavo Pandolfo have over a million followers on Instagram, so if you’re ever in need of some inspiration or just want to check out something cool, take a look at their feed.

Banksy @banksy

One of the world’s most famous artists, Banksy has long been a hidden yet prominent figure in the art world. No one is quite sure who Banksy is, but that doesn’t stop his paintings from showing up all over the world and being worth millions of dollars.

Banksy is known for his political, social, and environmental statements and is seen as an inspiration for millions around the globe.

Olek @oleknyc

Another art influencer out of New York (sensing a pattern here, are we?), Olek is a performance and visual artist. She is known for creating huge works of art using only yarn and other fiber types.

She has covered plenty of objects in yarn from a knight’s armor to mannequins, Olek knows how to make just about anything unique.

Brian Donnelly @KAWS

Donnelly is what many refer to as a “modern-day pop artist”. While there is no guarantee he’ll become the next Andy Warhol, Donnelly is still wildly popular with over three million followers on Instagram.

Donnelly often posts his own work along with a number of collaborations he does with other world-famous artists. You can follow him on Instagram or check out his work on his website.
